Rev. Fr. Nathan Pospischil, FSSP
Assistant Chaplain

Rev Fr Nathan Pospischil FSSP was born in 1992 in Sydney, Australia, and is now a Catholic Priest of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter.

Fr Pospischil was educated at Patrician Brother’s College and completed a Bachelor’s of Commerce at the University of Sydney before working at the State Tax Office. Fr Pospischil attended the FSSP’s chaplaincy in Parramatta, Australia since High School, but it was during his university studies that he delved deeper into the faith and began to discern a Priestly vocation.

Fr Pospischil continued to discern a Priestly vocation while working and visited Ezechiel House in Sydney in 2015, the FSSP’s first year house of formation in Oceania. Fr Pospischil first discerned with the FSSP because of his love for the Traditional Latin Mass and because of the example of the Priests of the FSSP whom he had met over the years. He entered seminary at Ezechiel House in 2016 for the FSSP and transferred to Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, Nebraska, USA for the remainder of his studies in 2017.

Fr Pospischil was ordained a Deacon on 2nd April 2022 and completed his Deacon assignment at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. With thanksgiving to almighty God, Fr Pospischil was ordained a Priest on 24th June 2023, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, Australia, by Most Rev Richard Umbers, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney. He offered his first Mass on the 4th Sunday after Pentecost (25th June 2023) at Maternal Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Lewisham, Australia.

Fr Pospischil is assigned as the assistant Priest of the Latin Mass Chaplaincy of the Diocese of Auckland since July 2023 for his first assignment as a newly ordained Priest.
